Local pour · checked 2026-09-03
Panama City Beach drinks like a Gulf town: oysters first, then something cold and cheap. The visitors bureau frames it the same way — fresh seafood, tropical cocktails, and beach bars with happy hour and weekly specials. The local pour is a shucked dozen inside a 2–6 window, then a $3 well drink up the beach.
Oysters are the local language
Dusty's Oyster Bar (16450 Front Beach Road) posts daily 2pm–6pm and names a special price on a dozen raw oysters and pitchers of beverages — but the same page prints that specific happy-hour prices can vary, so no dollars are copied here. Window only. The visitors bureau's restaurant guide singles out Dusty's by name for the grouper sandwich, which tells you where the town's seafood reputation lives: the raw bars on Front Beach.
Printed dollars up and down the strip
Salty Sue's (17501 Panama City Beach Parkway) posts Full Bar Happy Hour Specials 3 to 6pm: $4 wine specials (merlot, white zinfandel, and chardonnay), 2-for-1 well and call drinks (double tall), 1 lb smoked wings $9.99, 16oz specialty drinks $9, and an Old Fashioned $10. The room runs Monday–Thursday 11am–8pm, Friday–Saturday 11am–9pm, Sunday closed. In the beach-town core, Beef 'O' Brady's Panama City Beach (11226 Hutchison Boulevard) posts Happy Hour 11am–5pm Monday–Friday with $3 domestic drafts and house-brand cocktails, $4 wine, 10 starters under $10, plus craft beer flights $8, margarita flights $15, and champagne flights $12. And The Salty Goat Saloon (13006 Front Beach Road) posts $1 off all beers and $3 well drinks every day 4pm–7pm, with Sunday extended from 11am–7pm.
How to drink it like a local
- Afternoon: raw-bar window at Dusty's, daily 2–6 — ask the bar for the dozen price.
- Golden hour: $4 wine and 2-for-1 wells at Salty Sue's (3–6, closed Sunday) or $1-off beers and $3 wells at the Salty Goat (daily 4–7).
- Day shift: Beef 'O' Brady's runs 11–5 on weekdays — the earliest printed window on the beach.
Windows and prices move — confirm on the venue's own page via Deals or On now before you go. Home-bar versions of the margarita and the mule are measured out in six cocktail recipes.
